SMART HANGER:

BETTER ORGANIZE YOUR CLOTHES

Created by STEM Chic

OUR TECHNOLOGY

Call on Hanger
Arduino Powered
Wheels Move Hanger

The aim of our SMART Hanger is to be able to not only organize your clothes, but also call it forward.

Using your phone you will be able to command your hanger forward when called upon. The clothes you want will conveniently be called to the middle of your rack.

Using Arduino we have programmed the SMART Hanger to be able to do this.

An Arduino Board will command motors and wheels.

Wheels will be used to move the SMART Hanger forward and also back into position.

It's like a mini car moving the hanger.

OUR STORY

We are a group of four students at NYU's Tandon School of Engineering.

This idea was created for our Semester Long Design Project. This is a Rapid Assembly Design (RAD) Group.

Head of Programming: Progga

Head of Design: Isabelle

Head of Production: Shruti

Head of Management: Araceli

OUR VISION

We believe an automated identification system for clothes and hangers would allow for a smoother process of production, helping industries achieve lower average costs of production.

In the past companies have tried the approach of labeling a clothing item with bar or QR codes, but this has not shown drastic improvements in efficiency in the chain of organization.

With SMART Hanger we plan on labelling the hanger itself and the virtue of it being attached to the rack would make it

an easier identification system.

OUR TECHNOLOGY

We will use the power of Arduino and its coding language to create SMART Hanger.

SMART Hanger will feature an Arduino Board that will command the hanger forward and back to its original position.

It will do this by command wheels to roll via motor.
